Where are we planting?
Chimera Crescent direct lease off LINZ in partnership with CCC Parks
We have negotiated a lease to plant native trees on this corridor extension beside the stream outlet from Travis Wetland. CCC Parks Ecologists will have input as to species choice and location. This will become a permanent city asset when the ground is handed back to the CCC from the government. Christchurch school student grown and planted trees will already be established on the site.
QEII Adventure Trail
This fantastic community resource of the future is currently unfunded. But in partnership with the CCC Parks dept school students will plant out this area in native trees following the plans already in place so when funding becomes available the trees will already be established. Some of the hard landscaping components like paths and bridges will be constructed by students as well in association with the Shirley Boys High School Civil Engineering building program.
